The modification occurred on the same week of February 14, Valentine’s day. Search Engine Journal said that the update focused on page relevance, not on quality. It is also observed that positive changes in website rankings happened after it.
Its name came from the famous Pubcon Florida SEO Conference in 2000. This 2019, a broad algorithm change happened on the same day as the conference, too.
According to Search Engine Journal, this event was more on Google’s side. It’s a major action released by Google that somehow affected the method of ranking websites. Again, the search engine giant reiterated that the focus should be on relevance-related factors.
A Small Update
This happened on Google’s 20th birthday, Sept. 27, 2018. It’s a small impact made by the broad core update. Some websites who reported a low score last August gained high scores again.
Danny Sullivan of Google Search Liaison said that it was a smaller enhancement. It complemented to what happened during the previous modification.
Broad Core Algorithm Change
Some industries called this, “medic.” It’s because medical sites were receiving low page scores. Google claimed they only made a general ranking action and did not target industries.
The Twitter statement released by the search engine giant states two (2) clear things:
– They were focusing on the improvement of relevant results to search queries.
– The sites who had lost their rankings did not lose it due to poor quality.
March 2019 Core Update
The update is like the previous changes made by Google. The intention is to build more relevant results to the searchers. If your page is not performing well, you have to wait for another similar event to happen. There’s nothing to fix.
June 2019 Core and Diversity Update
Google also released changes in June. They call it, June 2019 Core Update. They tweeted on Twitter before the day of the actual release.
